Are You Going to “Rice Days” in Rice? Here’s Why You Should Go.
There has been a lot to celebrate here over the summer. There have been parades, concerts, and even fireworks during times of celebration in towns and cities all around Minnesota.
Another of these is coming up on August 17th in Rice Minnesota. And everyone is invited to attend and celebrate their wonderful small-town feel. The event will run from 11am-8pm.
From 11-5 there will be bonce houses for the kids to enjoy during the day. The kiddie parade will start lining up at 11:30 in the Post Office parking lot. All kids walking, riding on a float, a hoverboard, bike, etc. will get a prize for being a participant.
The Main “Rice Days Parade” will start at noon, those who want to be a participant in the parade need to start lining up at 11am.
There will be activities scheduled all day which will include:
The Fire Department “Water Fights” starts at 2:30. There will be a kiddie version of the “water fights” that will take place after the Fire Department Fights are done.
DJ Scotty will be spinning tunes from 4-8 leading up to the Street Dance with the band UPSURGE from 8pm until midnight.
Come hungry, there will be food and drinks available until midnight. The Rice Legion will be selling brats and burgers from 11am-6pm or until they sell out, so you had better make sure you get there early to get yours.
The 2nd Annual Rice Days Market will be set up in the large grass area around the Water Tower in Rice.
And of course, there will be vendors in the streets all day. There are still slots open to set up at Rice Days, email ricewt@mnwt.org for details.
Rice Days is organized by The Rice Women of Today, and there is still a need for monetary donations to help cover the costs of this event. They are trying to raise $10,000.
If you would like to contribute, or have questions on how you can help with the costs of Rice Days, email ricewt@mnwt.org.
No matter what town or city you live in, events like this coming up in Rice are normally enjoyable and who knows who you will meet there or what you’ll find to buy.
