All across the country, children's lemonade stands are being shut down for lack of permits. Let's think this through for a minute. They are kids, they are just trying to have fun, maybe make a few dollars, and make people smile. How is it impacting their growing work ethic to shut down a lemonade stand? Country Time Lemonade company is offering to pay for permits and fines served to kids operating lemonade stands this summer, with Country Time Legal-ade. They posted a YouTube video, that you can watch above, that explains why they think it is important for kids to be able to operate a stand and sell lemonade this summer. And I agree with them. Kids learn by doing, and they won't learn if they can't try.

When I did a search for "St. Cloud Lemonade Stand Laws", one of the first forms I found was a "Special Event Food Stand License Application". It needs to be filled out and submitted 14 days prior for any stand operating 1-4 days in the same location. So if your kid mentions wanting a lemonade stand this summer, get this form filled out to air on the side of caution, and let us know where it is at so we can come get a glass!
