If I asked you who your favorite teacher of all time was, it probably wouldn't take you too long to shout out a name of a teacher who made a big difference in your life.

Right now, a Princeton teacher has been nominated for America's Favorite Teacher...and if she wins, she could win some pretty incredible prizes, including a visit to her school from Bill Nye the Science Guy!

AMERICA'S FAVORITE TEACHER COULD WIN SOME AWESOME PRIZES

One incredible teacher is going to be chosen as America's Favorite Teacher and will win $25,000, a trip to Hawaii, an appearance in Reader's Digest, and, as I mentioned earlier, a 'school assembly' with Bill Nye the Science Guy!!!! How cool is that?

What's extra exciting about this year's contest is that one of our own has made the Quarter Finals!

QUARTER-FINALIST MICHELLE HALLBECK OF PRINCETON COULD WIN IT ALL!

It was posted on Princeton's Bulletin Board that Michelle Hallbeck is in the running to be America's Favorite Teacher, and along with the major prizes that we mentioned, she also has a chance to win a $1,000 'Library Refresh' from Lerner Publishing Group, and a pallet of paper from Hammermill. For any school to get these kinds of prizes, it has to help with costs!

WHY DID MICHELLE BECOME A TEACHER?

Why did Michelle become a teacher? Michelle says she had an amazing experience when she was in high school, during a course called 'Exploring Childhood' that was for anyone interested in a career in education. She was assigned to an elementary teacher named Ann Jorgenson, a first-grade teacher. Michelle says she witnessed Ann's love for teaching and the excitement she felt when her students learned something new. That was the moment Michelle knew teaching is what she wanted to do. She was lucky enough to receive a teaching job at that same school many years later.

Michelle says she likes to inspire children to be themselves, know that they are cared for and loved, and encourages each one to make a difference in the world.

INSPIRING AND EDUCATING KIDS FOR 31 YEARS AND RUNNING

Michelle has dedicated her life to teaching for the past 31 years, and when asked what she would do with the $25,000, she said she would love to take her family of 12 (including kids, spouses, and grandchildren)on their FIRST family vacation, and she would invest in her grandbabies' college savings accounts. She also wants to put some in an account that will grow interest to use to buy supplies for her classroom each year.
