ST. CLOUD - A stuffed two-headed pig is one of the more interesting artifacts in the collection at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud.

Curator Adam Smith says Louie Poganski of St. Cloud donated the pig to the museum way back in 1953.

The pig was born with two heads. According to the paperwork we have on the history of the piece, it talks about it being a very interesting mutation. And so the pig was born, and lasted maybe about a week, and then the person who had the pig thought it was very interesting so they taxidermied it.

Smith says because the stuffed two-headed pig is at least 63 years old, it's become very fragile. He says they almost always have it in a climate-controlled environment, and also limit its exposure to light.

Each month throughout the year WJON news will introduce you to a different interesting artifact at the Stearns History Museum.
