I've never hosted Thanksgiving personally...but, I have been to my fair share of Thanksgiving feasts and some were definitely organized better than others. I've put together a list of tips to help you host the best Minnesota Thanksgiving ever.

1. Serve up appetizers that include Minnesota Sushi. This is a staple holiday favorite for most Minnesotans. You really can't go wrong.

2. Have a designated space for the coats and shoes that's out of the way. There's nothing worse than having to climb over a mountain of soggy wet shoes only to hunt for a spot for our coats. Might I suggest piling them up in a guest room?

3. Clean your bathroom. It's probably going to get a lot of traffic on Thanksgiving so make sure it looks like a place someone would want to tinkle in.

4. Clean your fridge. A lot is going to be coming out of it and going back in. You need to make space. Plus, you don't want to ruin people's appetites. Would you want to eat turkey that's been defrosting next to Aunt Tina's container of moldy leftovers all week?

5. Have dinner ready within 30 minutes of your invite time. Many people hold out on eating breakfast or anything else prior to the Thanksgiving feast to save room for the turkey and pie. Your guests might get "hangry" if you wait too long to eat.

6. If there's snow, make sure you've shoveled a path and salted. Snow in your shoes is the worst feeling in the world. Change my mind.

7. There should be easy access to a TV for two reasons: 1. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and 2. Football.

8. Have games. They don't need to be anything fancy...maybe just a deck of cards. But, there should be something to do.

9. Provide 'to go' containers. Everyone loves leftover Thanksgiving dinner. Send your guests home with a little extra love.
