In two separate incidents, a 19-year old woman was struck by a car and three people were shot just outside the State Fair Grounds Monday night.

The Minnesota State Fair has officially wrapped up, though not without some degree of chaos and catastrophe.

Just after 10:00pm Monday, St. Paul police responded to a call reporting a pedestrian crash at the intersection of Snelling Avenue and Fair Place West. They arrived to find a 19-year old woman who had been struck by a vehicle and was lying in the road, breathing but unresponsive.

According to StPaul.gov, witnesses claimed there had been a fight in the area and the woman somehow ended up in the road and was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver initially stopped but continued driving after bystanders began kicking and hitting his vehicle. He continued driving before pulling over and calling 911; he has been cooperative. The woman was taken to Regions Hospital where she is currently in critical condition.

Shortly after, gunshots rang out just a block away from the initial crash scene. Police on hand responded, finding an adult with a gunshot wound. He was also taken to Regions Hospital; not long after a second and third victim arrived at United Hospital and Regions Hospital respectively, also suffering from gunshot wounds.

All three shooting victims are expected to survive. No arrests have been made. No word yet on whether the pedestrian crash and shootings are related or not.
