There seem to be a lot of unhappy Americans in the wake of the presidential election results. I think it's time that we reflect a little bit today and try to work on being happier, friendly and more tolerant people. Say something nice to your neighbor today and share this list with your friends!

1. Stop complaining. It's not healthy to complain so, obviously you can complain sometimes but you need to be careful it's not excessive. You don't need to share every frustration you have on social media.

2. Stop trying to always be right. Sometimes it's OK to be wrong and admit it. And, sometimes the best way to win the war is to not be at the fight.

3. Don't place blame on others all of the time. Sometimes, other people are at fault and sometimes they are to blame. But, if you think nothing is ever your fault, you might have some self reflecting to do.

4. Don't be so negative. Start to see your worth and avoid self defeating thoughts. You can't change the world, you can only change yourself.

5. Start believing anything is possible. If you want to create real change in the world, start by improving yourself first.

6. Stop being a control freak. You can't control everything all of the time, so learn to let things go and let things be. Accepting things for what they are is crucial in your own happiness.

7. Don't be so critical about stuff. Start trying to see the positives in each situation.

8. You don't need to impress everyone. The only one you should care about impressing is yourself.

9. Forget about other people's expectations of you. Focus on the expectations you have for yourself.

10. Embrace change. Sometimes change is good, and sometimes change is bad...One thing is certain, change is inevitable.

11. Don't hold on to things. It's good to cherish things, but don't get too attached because everything in life is temporary.

12. Avoid using labels. The world isn't as simple as black and white...we live in a complicated society, so avoid labeling things and people.

13. Challenge your fears. Sometimes the things you fear the most are just in your head. If you can conquer your fears, you can do anything.

14. Stop making excuses and take ownership of your life. You know that phrase, "roll with the punches?" That's pretty much what this means. Bad things happen to good people, but that shouldn't the excuse you use to just coast on by and stop living life. Sometimes, it's all about standing up again when you've been knocked down for the 100th time.

15. Learn to let go of things you can't change. The past is the past and there's nothing you can do to change it so focus on the present moment and the future...but try to really live in the moment as much as you can.
