The 11th annual Catholic Charities Pack the Porches food and fun drive officially gets underway on Friday, March 19th from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You're encouraged to make a food  or monetary donation. You can drop off your items to one of their two locations. There will be a drop-off at Pioneer Place on Fifth located at 22 5th Avenue South in St. Cloud or St. Cloud Hyundai at 900 2nd Street South in Waite Park.

During the drive Coborn's will be matching the donations up to $10,000. That's awesome. You can literally double your donation that way. You can even make a monetary donation right from your couch if you'd like. Catholic Charities set up an online donation link at ccstcloud.org.

The event benefits Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf. It's part of a bigger event at the state level called Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. The bigger event runs March 1 through April 11.

According to the press release, "March is typically a challenging month for Minnesota food shelves, as the number of families being served the first months of the year and the amount of food going out the door is considerably greater than the amount of food coming in during the same period."

That's why is so important to make a donation if you're in a position to do so. Let's help end Minnesota hunger across the state and in the St. Cloud area!

If you're unable to make it to Pack the Porches, you can still donate to Catholic Charities before or after the food drive. Contact info@ccstcloud.org or call them at 320-229-4560 and mention you'd like to make a donation.
