You Know You Like McDonald’s Too Much When….
There must be something in the fries at McDonald's for a mother to think she'd win a court case that demanded weekly child support funds to sustain her kids' Golden Arches habit.
The Australian mother demanded $1450 per-week to cover living expenses for herself and two children, including a $150 a week for blue jeans, $60 a week for McDonald's binging and $100 weekly for gifts.
Evelyn Bender, the federal magistrate who oversaw the case, told the woman that she needed to seriously alter her lifestyle and that her requests were excessive. Instead of the $1,450 per week, Bender ordered the husband pay $800 a week.
That's right - $800 a week. That should still be more than enough to get the kids some McDonald's on a regular basis, you would think. She wanted $150 a week for blue jeans? Do 2 kids need $150 worth of NEW blue jeans every week?
And what about the "$100 a week for gifts" for the kids? Are you serious? First of all - $5 a week is a decent allowance for a little kid. Plus, do you know anyone who buys their children $100 in NEW gifts or toys, every week? If you do, those kids are spoiled rotten.
And - if you could take your family to eat out - anywhere in your town - would you choose McDonald's? Me neither....
