‘World War Z’ Movie Review [VIDEO]
A Virus used as camouflage (?) interesting concept but it works in this zombie thriller titled, ‘World War Z.’World War Z is a 2013 apocalyptic film based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Max Brooks.
You could call it a horror film but then again it’s not, it’s a more realistic film that makes you think something like this is possible, we’ll have to see what our future brings.
The film stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos (The Killing), Matthew Fox and James Badge Daleand is directed by Marc Forster.
Brad Pitt (Gerry Lane) plays a retired United Nations employee who must travel the world to find a way to stop the zombie pandemic. Gerry and his family are airlifted off by helicopter to an aircraft carrier where they initially stay while Gerry leaves to to get to the bottom line of the killer virus turning humans into zombies.
The film is rated PG-13 and runs 116 minutes and worth the dime.
I give the film a 3.5 due in part of a pretty decent story (even though it took a lot of re-writes), and there was actually some realism to the film compared to other zombie flicks. I will have to admit it’s not one of Brad’s better films but an actor at his calliber makes the film watchable.
The movie is now showing at the Parkwood Cinemas, click on the link for showtimes.
