Woman’s Body Found in Meeker County, Sheriff’s Office Investigating

GROVE CITY - The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death.

Deputies got a report of a missing person at about 4:45 p.m. yesterday (Monday). They went to a home in the 31,600 block of 518th Avenue, in Swede Grove Township to investigate. Both the Grove City and Atwater Fire Departments were called out to help with the search.

At about 8:10 p.m. last (Monday) night the body of a 39-year-old woman was found in a drainage ditch about a third of a mile west of the home.

The body has been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy and identification.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the events leading up to the death, as well as the cause and manner of death.
