Hey girl!  What's the deal?  Getting married and having babies isn't your goal?  Ever? Do people think you're crazy because your clock is ticking?  Or maybe you've been there.  You raised a family, just to have your significant other leave you for someone 10 years younger, and 100 pounds lighter.

Whatever your reasoning, women are becoming just as afraid of making a commitment to someone as their male counterpart has typically always been.  But what are the reasons?

COMMITMENT-PHOBIA

There is such a thing as Commitment-phobia...and it happens for lots of different reasons.  For single women today, there are unlimited choices.  They can go online and date a new guy every single day.  This gives women unlimited choices, and it becomes harder to choose which one has the traits that you're looking for.  Even if you find them, are they really what you want to live with?  Quite often we get what we ask for, and then find out it really isn't what we wanted or needed. There's also the "myth" that  you will "KNOW" when you meet Mr. Right.  But according to experts, the light bulb moment and signs from above don't always happen.  Some women won't commit without the okay from something outside of their own thinking. I find this ironic that we still need the okay from someone other than ourselves.

WHY WOMEN WON'T SETTLE DOWN

Many women are not afraid of commitment...they just don't want it.  The stigma isn't like it used to be, even though people may ask the question, "Why doesn't she settle down?" The answers can be quite obvious. If a woman has a great paying job, gets to spend her money on whatever she wants, and go anywhere she chooses, why not stay single?  It doesn't mean that she will never settle down, it means that maybe she will take a little bit longer to do what she wants to do, and maybe a commitment is something she wants a little later in life.

LOVE ISN'T A LOTTERY

Is he Mr. Right? Well women...you do have the brains to figure it out, right?!  We can create our own luck without looking to the stars for answers.  If a woman is constantly wanting to be in a relationship, but no man is ever good enough for her, then she might need to take a look inward.  That might be a good sign that she truly is afraid of commitment.  But looking for the answer to see what your mom, your best friend, or anyone other than you feels for someone, doesn't really make any sense.  Don't you know what you like?  It's okay to take advice from those that love you, regarding information about the individual you're dating.  Perhaps they know that he's got a gambling addiction, or he's been abusive in the past with other girlfriends. This is information you should always take into consideration, but barring anything out of the ordinary, you should know what makes you happy. If not...Then maybe you're not ready...just yet.
