Who’s The New Guy

Hey, I'm Matt, the new guy getting you through your afternoons 2-6 on MIX 94.9!

Kelly Cordes took a leap to the MIX 94.9 morning show, The Get Up And Go Show, with Chad Taylor. So afternoon opportunity came knocking, who am I to say no?

A little bit about me;

I was born in Rochester, MN, raised in Plainview, MN. I've done all sorts of jobs from fast food, saw mill (stacking lumber), construction, masonry/concrete work and even selling shoes.

I finally decided to go after what I really wanted, radio, and headed to Brown College in Mendota Heights. Below is a picture from my final "studio" class during my time at Brown.

From Brown, I landed my first on-air radio job in Luverne, MN... that's also were I met Brittany. After about a year and a half in Luverne, Brittany and I headed to Okoboji, IA where I was production director and night host of an "Adult 40" station. Iowa was great, but we were ready to back home.

That's when I landed a job with Townsquare Media, right here in St. Cloud. Brittany and I have been here since January 2013 and we bought our first house last July.

Since then, things have taken off! We are now engaged, with a wedding set for the end of this year, and also have our first child on the way at the end of August... kind of did that backwards. Oh well!

I love Minnesota Vikings football, even though they seem to enjoy crushing my optimism each year, get me outside and I'm ready to anything sports related, or that just involves physical activity. Land of 10,000 lakes, throw me into any of them and I'm at home.

I'm pumped to be with on MIX 94.9 and ready to have some fun with you in the afternoons!
