I know that there are far worse things to complain about in the world...but I want to take a moment to address one of my biggest pet peeves.

I hate going into a store, grabbing a cart and realizing that the sanitation wipes are out of stock! It's one of my worst nightmares as a germaphobe!

Carts are pretty much the dirtiest things of all time...and stores are cesspools for germs in the fall and winter months. I know that they don't HAVE to provide the wipes, but it's a nice courtesy that I've grown used to.

I was at the store the other day and of course the dispenser of wipes was out of stock. I had a big decision to make at that point...leave the store, carry my items and skip the cart...or dare I say touch the cart handle and suck it up.

I decided that since my trip wasn't going to be anything crazy, that I'd just carry my items. I was sick with a cold all weekend--so, I knew that if I used a cart, I'd be potentially spreading my sickness to others.

My husband Dave thinks that it's perfectly OK to walk over to the hand sanitizer isle and give yourself one free squirt for the cart. I told him NO because that would be stealing. He disagrees with me and sees it more as a public service.

What would you have done in my situation?
