Turning 50 may not be so bad! That's apparently the perfect age, according to a recent Harris Poll of 2,242 adults. When asked what age you would most like to stay if you could stop time and live forever in good health, 50 was the age given from both the young and old.

What makes 50 the perfect age? There's more stability in life. People earn the highest salaries of their career in their 50's. Their children are on their own by that time, which allows for more freedom.

Get married: 26
Have your first child: 28
Begin being an empty-nester: 45
Retire: 61
