I was thinking to myself how winter in Minnesota is such a bummer....and then I really really started thinking about it.  I'm at the point where it's beginning to get to me...but then I started thinking of all the positives of winter!  What a great time!  After living in Kentucky for about 20 years, and the winters usually consisting of brown surroundings, and lots of debilitating icy roads, I thought to myself...There's no way I can curse the lovely snow that covers the state of Minnesota like a blanket.

This is the beautiful view out my bedroom window. Sometimes painfully cold?  Yes....but bearable.  Although the winters can be cold and dangerous...It's that way everywhere else as well.   Theres something to the saying,  "The grass is always greener on the other side.  Or in this case...The snow is always whiter on the other side...But it really isnt!

For the most part, winters in Minnesota are fantastic...If you like snow.  What would Minnesotan's do without the ability to just plop down in the snow and make a snow angel?  What would we do without the memories of working together to build the biggest snowman on the block? What would we do without the big piles of snow that we slid down as kids?  And yes...what about all the opportunities to get moving when others across the country are absolutely stuck indoors?  Skiing?  Snowmobiling?  Ice Skating? Hockey?  Curling?  Ice Fishing?  In reality, Minnesotans should be healthier and less depressed than a lot of other areas.  We make FUN in the snow!  We make it a part of our lives.  We make it exercise.  So here's to another round of winter...Let it Snow..Let it Snow...Let it Snow!  And turn your FROWN....upside down!   :-)
