LOSING WEIGHT IS A DRAG

I remember being young... gaining the Freshman 15 pounds in college, and I took an aerobic excercise class, started going for walks with my girlfriends, and the weight melted off. I ate big sandwiches, I ate pizza...I ate foods that I won't even consider looking at today.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?

Maybe the reason I'm having trouble losing this last 20 pounds is because...I'm close to where I need to be?  20 pounds doesn't sound close to me.  But being 49, it just doesn't come off like it used to.  I've made HUGE lifestyle changes compared to the girl in her 20s and 30s.  I used to drink pop everyday. I used to make huge breakfasts every Sunday with homemade bisquits and gravy, bacon, eggs and hash-browns. I never used to drink water. I didn't watch calories. My weight stayed pretty low compared to where I am today.

THE LAST TWO YEARS

Over the last two years, drinking pop happens on an 'occasional basis.' I don't buy pop, chips, cake or cookies like I used to. On occasion, I'll splurge but we're talking once in a great while. So why with all these changes, am I stuck in the mud?

DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT

I have to say...I pout  about not being able to do ANYTHING bad on the food chain anymore. It's terribly unfair. If I eat too much good food, I'll gain weight. If I have a great week and stay on track, I might lose a 1/2 a pound. If I have two bites too much of even the good healthy food, I'm right back to where I started. So I decided to have blood work done, to see if there might be something else keeping me from losing weight. I found that I had  a lot of deficiencies in vitamins, hormones, etc. SO! I'm giving it one more short. I'm taking vitamins, and getting my body to a healthy state where maybe, it will finally let go of those unwanted pounds. I'll tell you what happens in about 4 weeks.
