We Have This Room To Thank for Our Freedom and Independence
I traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last Wednesday, and stopped by some of the city's most historic sites. One place that was a "must-see" for me was 'Independence Hall.' Independence Hall is where both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted. There's an overwhelming feeling that comes over you when you enter the room where George Washington and our founding fathers came up with the documents that would shape America as we know it. Its also a good reminder on why in 2016 we need to protect the freedoms and liberties these men fought so hard for.
The United States Declaration of Independence was approved in this room on July 4, 1776. The Constitutional Convention took place here from May 25 to September 17, 1787
George Washington sat in this exact chair. Its unbelievable, how you can still feel his presence even today when you visit. This is living history at its very best.
Visit Independence National Historical Park. More details here. Of course no trip to Philadelphia would be complete without a stop at the Liberty Bell.
