Waite Park Apartment Fire Ruled Arson
WAITE PARK -- Authorities say a fire at a Waite Park apartment complex yesterday (Monday) was intentionally set. The State Fire Marshall's Office and Waite Park Police are asking for help in finding whoever started the blaze at the Sundial IV apartment complex.
Tips can be called in to the Minnesota Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020, or online at www.mniaai.org. You can remain anonymous and there is a $5,000 reward available.
The fire broke out just after 11:00 a.m. and forced some parents to throw their children to safety from second and third story windows. Many tenants also jumped, while some were rescued with fire truck ladders. Several people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The fire caused significant damage to the apartment complex and the Red Cross is assisting 41 displaced residents.
