I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful emails, Facebook posts, and text messages you've sent over the last several months regarding my daughters hearing loss. Macy was back in at the U of M last week getting fitted for her hearing aids. I showed her your recent messages, and she lit up like a Christmas tree. Here's a recent message from Theresa regarding her own situation with her 8-year-old daughter.

You don't know me, but I listen to your father on Mix, and since my father was a radio guy (WJJY) , i feel like we are family. Thank you for being brave and letting your Dad post these pics and share your journey. My 8 yr old Saphira went deaf in one ear recently and we don't know why, yet. Appointments to follow in January. I show her your posts and hopefully she will find comfort knowing she is not alone. You are an amazing young lady, stay strong.

I love that we're able to share our personal struggles and stories together on the Get Up & Go Show. You've all become like a second family to me, and I'm blessed to broadcast in such a supportive community. For those that are just learning about Macy's journey, she was diagnosed with Mondini Malformation last fall, after dealing with hearing related issues since she was in kindergarten. Stacy sent this message to me yesterday.

Hi Chad I left a voicemail on your work phone. But my co worker heard you talking about your daughter that was recently diagnosed with hedging loss. After watching the video I tagged you in. I have been through this journey. My oldest had a progressive hearing loss. We have no family history of this and found my husband and I gave a genetic recessive hearing loss gene where if we have children we have a 25% chance we both will pass the gene. We did both times. I would love to be a resource to you and your wife. If you guess have any questions let me know. I have loads of information! First if you don't mind me asking how severe is her hearing loss? Both my girls have a hearing aid and a cochlear implant that is 6 months old. You are not alone!

Here's another sweet and supportive message from Stacie via the Mix 94.9 Facebook page last week.

Hello Chad, I saw the you tube video about your daughter. Our daughter is 7 and was diagnosed just last year with a Mondini defect and also enlarged vestibular aqueducts. She was born with normal hearing as well but not needs a hearing aid in her left ear. We know the struggles and fears you are going through right now and we just wanted to send you our support and well wishes.
