Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie directed and produced "Unbroken" an epic drama that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis "Louie" Zamperini who, along with two of his crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a plane crash during Word War II, only to be caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner camp.

I loved this movie. Its a bit long but never once lost my interest. The entire family will enjoy it. Its rated PG-13 with a run time of 137 minutes. The film opened on Christmas Day in 131 theaters nationwide and grossed over $15 million dollars. I predict this film will win a ton of awards in 2015.

P.S. the soundtrack is amazing. There's a new song from Coldplay included called "Miracles," which I can't wait to download from iTunes.

**The movie is an adaptation from Laura Hillenbrand's New York Times Best Seller "Unbroken."
