The Minnesota Twins (52-58) needed all four runs from Jake Cave's second inning grand slam to beat the visiting Kansas City Royals 6-5 Sunday afternoon at Target Field.

Looking for his 150th MLB win, Minnesota starter Ervin Santana got into early trouble, giving up a first inning two-run homer to Kansas City's Lucas Duda, but was able to settle in after that -- giving up just one more earned run before coming out in the fifth.

Reliever Gabriel Moya (2-0) earned the win for the Twins.

Minnesota outfielder Jake Cave hit his first major league career grand slam in the second inning, giving the Twins a 4-2 lead. Sano, Kepler, Forsythe, and Grossman all had two hits.

Despite making things interesting in the ninth, Fernando Rodney earned his 24th save of the season for the Twins.
