Hot on the heels of yesterday's first look comes the first 'Tomorrowland' trailer, which promises to shed more light on one of the most mysterious summer blockbusters in ages. And it does! Sort of. This is the very definition of a teaser trailer.

The trailer focuses mostly on Britt Robertson's Casey, a teenage girl who discovers a pin that can transport her to "Tomorrowland," an alternate dimension where scientific knowledge is leaps and bounds above our own (and everything looks very shiny). George Clooney, who plays a former child genius who has grown disillusioned with age, provides a voice over, popping up for a single shot. It all looks very pretty and there's a jetpack. Sold!

Although Damon Lindelof is the kind of writer whose reach often exceeds his grasp, Brad Bird is the kind of filmmaker who can ground even the nuttiest genre material. Between Lindelof's imagination, Bird's command of storytelling, Clooney's star power and Disney's knack for marketing (this movie is based on a "land" in their theme parks, after all), this could end up being on the biggest and most interesting blockbusters of 2015.

Here's the official synopsis:

From Disney comes two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland,” a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

'Tomorrowland' will arrive in theaters on May 22, 2015.
