I'm really proud of myself for losing 20 pounds over the past year...However...For some reason, I make plans to reach the next goal, and sometimes I do the exact opposite of what I need to, and stop the weightloss process. So what can we do to stop the cheating and keep our weight loss goals insight?

1.  PLAN AHEAD-

Whenever I plan ahead I seem to stick to it, much better than If I just wing it.  So if you'll set aside 15 minutes on Sunday to plan out your week, writing down what you're going to eat for each meal, when you're going to do your work out, what foods you are going to have for snacks, you won't have to make any last minute decisions. Keeping your appetite satisfied will also keep you from leaving the track. My friend Dayna Deters from Daynadetersfitness.com is always telling me....Prepare ahead of time. She lives what she preaches! She is a great friend who always sets a good example for me.

2.  PINPOINT CHANGES IN YOUR WEEKLY PLAN THAT COULD UPSET YOUR GOALS-

If you know that you are going to go to a graduation party on Saturday, and that you are going to a concert on Wednesday night, you need to make plans for these times of temptation. These are the toughest temptations to overcome, but perhaps having a snack before you attend the event, or while you're there, try to make healthy choices, reaching for veggies and bottle water, rather than chips and sodas.

3. LIMIT YOUR GROCERY SHOPPING TO ONCE A WEEK

The more trips you make to the grocery store, the more chances to give in to temptations that appear everywhere. Before you go shopping, its' a great idea to make sure you're not hungry when you shop. Always be prepared in case a major hunger strike happens at an inopportune time.

4. PREPARE YOUR FOOD IN ADVANCE

Many people think that taking time out on a Sunday afternoon to prepare the foods and meals for the week is going to be a waste of time. But I find that if I do this all on a Sunday, it's much easier to stay on track during the week. The food is ready when I need it, and it's ready for my family as well. Even cutting up veggies will make it easier for you to prepare your meals for the week.

5.  FIND SUPPORT

With my Medifast plan, I have someone I can talk to each week about my struggles and difficulties, and it really helps me to stay on track and keep a positive attitude. No one is perfect, and you will probably make mistakes. Don't give up!  If you fall off the wagon....Try not to beat yourself up...The most important thing you can do for yourself is to laugh it off, and get back on track.  It's when you just "give up" that things can start getting out of hand.  Find a friend...If they start giving up...Don't let them give up!  Be their support! If they find excuses to quit, then strive to show them your goals are not impossible!  YOU CAN DO THIS!
