Both The Weeknd and One Direction are clearly at the top of their game right now, as both made serious dents in Billboard's Hot 100 chart with their current singles.

The Weeknd has officially scored his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with his latest single, “Can’t Feel My Face,” after the track spent three weeks hovering just near the top in the No. 2 spot. The single managed to knock OMI’s “Cheerleader” down to No. 2, despite the smash summer hit holding steady at the top for four weeks. “Can’t Feel My Face,” which is set to appear on The Weeknd's upcoming LP Beauty Behind the Madness, is also the 1,045th song to hit No. 1 since the chart’s beginning, way back on Aug. 4 1958.

Meanwhile, One Direction's major success comes in the form of their latest single “Drag Me Down,” which debuted at No. 3 on the Hot 100. This marks not only the chart’s highest debut of 2015, but also happens to be the best sales week One Direction has seen throughout their entire career, moving 349,000 copies in its first week — something we’re pretty sure no one expected to take place over five years after their inception, all despite the sudden loss of one of their strongest vocalists and as whispers of an impending hiatus reach deafening volumes.

In fact, “Drag Me Down” marks the highest chart opening since Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” debuted at No. 1 last year (Sept. 6, 2014), making it only the 22nd song in chart history to do so.
