Re•mix [v. ree-miksn. ree-miks] verb: remix

To mix and re-record the elements of (a musical recording) in a different way. A song that has been edited or completely recreated to sound different from the original version. To use some of the same materials, allowing the song to reach a different audience. To compose an alternate master recording of a song, adding or subtracting elements, or changing the equalization, dynamics, pitch, tempo, playing time or almost any other aspect of the various musical components.
