The Get Up & Go Show Celebrates 2 Year Anniversary This Week [PHOTOS]
Can you believe its been 2 years already? Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday, my family and I were struggling with a big decision. Should we leave Iowa for Minnesota? Can we leave Iowa for Minnesota lol? We made such awesome friends in the Iowa Great Lakes and loved the community so much. Tough decisions and definitely one of the hardest things I ever had to do.
I knew I wanted to work for Townsquare Media and I was absolutely positive I wanted to work for our General Manager David Engberg. He had me at hello, to quote Jerry McGuire. My wife is the best judge of people I’ve ever met, and she said without hesitation, he’s got your best interests at heart. She was right, as always, just don’t tell her I said that lol.
David told me I would be partnered with this Jen Jacobs chick. I streamed her show online a few times before my arrival, so I could get a feel for how we would work together. She’s bright, funny, talented and has the most UNIQUE laugh in the history of radio! The rest they say is HISTORY. Fast forward to January 2014. Here we are two years and multiple ratings periods later. We knew we had some work to do and neither one of us is the type who runs from a challenge. The Get Up & Go Show has been a labor of love here in Central Minnesota. Jen and I have had our ups & downs, highs & lows, but were committed to the market, community we serve and each other.
Cheers to all of you (our listeners, our friends)! Thanks for making this ride ‘one I never want to get off of.’ I hope we make your mornings a bit brighter and we can grow together. There’s still a lot of work to do but look forward to making more memories with all of you in 2014. Listen weekday mornings 6-10AM with a ‘Best Of’ every Saturday morning 6-10AM. You can always email the show email@example.com, interact online at mix949.com, or on our social media pages Facebook and Twitter. **Instagram coming soon!
As we say each and every morning…”Have yourself a beautiful day, don’t let it get away.”
