I've been trying to get myself to go that extra mile to find the time to exercise on a regular basis. I can cut back on calories but finding a good time to exercise has been difficult for me.  So I started searching the internet for the best reasons to exercise.

I know that finding your "Why" can sometimes give people that extra little push they need to make something important happen.  So I'm hoping this list affects you, and me in a positive way.  Let's get off the couch together!  Here's why:

EXERCISE IMPROVES YOUR CASH FLOW

What?!  What does this mean?!~  According to studies, people who work out regularly make more money than those that don't.  Working out in the morning is the best time to work out, because it can help you remain mentally alert all day.  Can you find 15 minutes to get a quick work out in?  Sounds like its' worth a try!

EXERCISE HELPS YOU LOOK YOUNGER

Regular exercise can help slow or reverse the signs of aging. What do you prefer? Raisins or grapes!  I'll take grapes!

EXERCISE HELPS YOU SLEEP

Another good reason to exercise in the morning, is that it energizes your body all day, increases your metabolism, and then also helps you reduce stress and anxiety so you can sleep better at night.  I'm in!!!

EXERCISE REDUCES YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING ILL

As a single mom, I don't have time to get ill...(Not that any of us WANT to get sick).  My point is...I need to be on my game ALL the time!  Maybe you do too?  What better reason to get moving than that!  Research shows that it reduces your chance of getting a cold by 50%!

EXERCISING CONTROLS WEIGHT GAIN

Although this is one of the most important things we need to do, we hear it so much, that sometimes it gets lost in the mix.  The best way to control weight, is by maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly.  If you can just get started by getting in a few minutes each day...Once you do something for approximately 30 days, it starts to become a habit.  Worry about increasing exercise later. The important thing is adding some type of physical activity now, so you can start reaping all these great benefits from it.

EXERCISE IMPROVES YOUR MEMORY AND BRAIN FUNCTION

As we age, areas of our brain start to shrink!   Eeeks!  A Harvard study shows that regular exercise reduces and prevents the decline of memory tissue.  I also learned that if you like to dance...Dancing can lower your risk of getting Dementia by 76%.  Ok...I'm starting to pay attention.

EXERCISE MINIMIZES STRESS

Speaking of dancing,  just dancing the Tango for 20 minutes can show a decrease in stress.  Let's Dance!

EXERCISING IMPROVES YOUR MOOD

The chemical Dopamine is released in physical exercise.  So the more you move,  the better you feel, which might lead you to MORE moving and feeling more confident and happy.  Big plus, right?!
