It was an absolute pleasure to catch up with Houston, Texas native Tamar Davis this morning (4/5) on the Get Up & Go Show. Tamar recently beat fellow 'Voice' contestant and team member Maya Smith in the knockout round to move on with Team Christina. She's enjoying every minute of being on The Voice this season, and looks forward to what 2016 has in store for her musically. A little back story on Tamar, she was within inches of super stardom her entire life. She's been singing since the age of three, and was part of the girl group 'Girls Tyme' with Beyonce and Kelly Rowland (Destiny's Child), but left in order to finish school.

Tamar (35) has performed for President Clinton, and even wrote a Grammy-nominated song with Prince. She has her sites set on winning this season of The Voice, and making every single performance moving forward count. Below she talks about her time with Beyonce, and how she managed to find strength in the darkest times.
