Sweet, Tasty and Savory Treats Galore at Sauk Rapids Food Fest [PHOTOS]

SAUK RAPIDS -- Cheese curds, corn dogs and corn on the cob were just a few of returning favorites you could find at this year's Rapids River Days Food Fest in Sauk Rapids.

The event featured a wide variety of sweet, salty and savory temptations. Katie Kirkeby owner of Cup Kate's says she was excited for everyone to try her cupcakes.

"Of the cupcakes I have here [at food fest] I have three different favors, the chocolate chocolate chocolate, blueberry pancake and almond. These are my favorite three that I do I do about over 30 flavors," says Kirkeby.

This year was Kirkeby's first year at food fest she says she has plans to come back next year.

Besides yummy treats the event featured live music and many activities for kids including face painting and catapulting water wars.

Long time food fest lover Josh Moeller of Sauk Rapids says the hot weather didn't decrease his appetite.

"I tried one of those gyros for the first time this year very good and anything cold is [good]," says Moeller.

The Rapids River Days Food Fest will wrap up at 8:00 p.m. tonight (Saturday).
