On Saturday, the 2nd Annual Tanner's Team 5k takes place in Sauk Rapids. Last year, 486 people ran or walked in the inaugural event. This year, Tanner's Team organizers John and Cindy Fuls are looking for at least 487 to participate!

This 5k is very special for the Fuls. Their son Tanner was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) during the summer of 2010. Over the course of the summer and fall, he underwent bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and radiation therapies to remedy his MDS. Unfortunately, he lost his battle just a few short months later in November of 2010.

But his spirit lives on with this event. The Tanner's Team Foundation strives to raise money for all kids and families living with life-threatening illnesses. Whether you want to run, walk, volunteer or just donate... please check out their website to see how you can help.

Here are some photos from last year's 5k.
