ELROSA - Authorities have released the name of the person killed in a crash in western Stearns County early this (Tuesday) morning. The Minnesota State Patrol says 28-year-old Michael Blume of Elrosa died when his vehicle crossed the center line in a construction zone and hit a semi head-on.

The crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Highway 71, at 320th Street, just north of Elrosa. Blume's car was going south on Highway 71 when it crossed over the center line and hit the northbound semi.

A passenger in the car, two-year-old Jeremiah Blume of Elrosa was taken to HCMC with serious injuries.

The semi was driven by 44-year-old Carlos Sandoval of Grand Island, Nebraska. 14-year-old Angel Sandoval of Grand Island was a passenger in the semi. Both were taken to Sauk Centre Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
