ST. CLOUD - There's a local shortage of substitute teachers and the St. Cloud area school district is hoping to fill positions during a job fair later this week.

District 742 is hosting a substitute teacher job fair from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Apollo High School Commons.

Communications director with District 742, Tami Deland, says immediate on-site interviews will be available.

Anyone with a bachelor's degree can be an ideal candidate to become a substitute, who earn $120 for a full day after completing a training program.

Those who already have a teaching license can also apply for temporary guest teacher positions. Guest teachers cover unfilled absences through the year for regular teachers in a certain school and are guaranteed an assignment for the remaining days of the year.

Guest teachers earn $180 per day after completing the District 742 guest teacher training program.
