I don't know about you, but every year I get some interesting things for Christmas. Not to say I'm not grateful--because I am extremely grateful for everything I get...but, my closet gets more and more crammed every year.

You see, I'm a pack-rat. I save everything that anyone ever gets me...including; that sweater that's two sizes too small (bless grandma's heart for underestimating my true size), the costume jewelry I would have only ever wore to prom, five bottles of "old lady" perfume that I get every year, makeup kits that aren't even the colors I would normally wear and more. It all ends up in my closet.

While I was on vacation last week, I decided this needed to change. I wanted a more organized closet. I went through all of my clothes and got rid of anything that I haven't worn in the last year. Some things still had tags on them. But, once I got everything out of my closet, I didn't know what to do with it. Do I save it all--clutter up the garage and have a yard sale in the spring? If you're like me, you don't have space to save all of that! Don't worry! There are some options for you!

Goodwill--It's really easy to donate to Goodwill. That's where I decided to take all of my items. There's a drop off location in Waite Park next to Kohl's. All you have to do is pull your vehicle up to the sign labeled "drop off" and someone will come out and help you unload your donation items and give you a receipt for your taxes! You don't have to make an appointment or anything. It's super convenient.

Salvation Army--They collect new and gently used items. Their store is located on 55 Park Avenue S. St. Cloud, MN. Their number is 320-253-5664.

Catholic Charities--This organization is always looking for clothing donations. If you're trying to make a little more room in your closet for some of your new Christmas gifts, you might want to think about donating your gently used clothes to Catholic Charities.

Epilepsy Foundation--You can either bring your items to one of their drop off locations, or you can schedule a curb pickup at your home! They've got a list of acceptable donation items on their website.

Plato's Closet--If you're like me and you like to hold on to clothes that you don't ever wear, maybe getting money would motivate you to reorganize your closet and purge some items. Plato's Closet will pay you for your gently used brand-name clothes. But, they only accept teenage clothing.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. If you're not going to use something, don't let it collect dust in your closet, give it to someone who would love it and use it! Aunt Bethany will never know.
