ST. CLOUD - A redevelopment project that includes building a Tim Hortons restaurant in south St. Cloud has moved one step forward.  The St. Cloud Planning Commission unanimously approved the project during their meeting on Tuesday night.

The developer wants to replace an existing bank building with a new 2,250 square foot bank building, as well as build the Tim Hortons restaurant on the east half of the site, at 200 25th Avenue South in the Roosevelt Office Complex.

The representative for the developer MN 200 LLC, Karla Carlson, says they're in negotiations to buy and develop the property.  She says the restaurant deal has not been finalized yet, but did confirm they are working with Tim Hortons.

The 2,015 square foot building would include a drive through.  Tim Hortons is a chain restaurant based out of Canada.  They are known for their coffee and donuts.  Their website says they have 869 restaurants in the United States.

With the Planning Commission's approval of the amendment request of the Planned Unit Development, the project now moves on to the St. Cloud City Council on March 27th.
