ST. CLOUD -- Granite City Days ended with a bang this year with the Optimist's Family Fun Day today (Sunday) at Lake George.

Crowds of people came out to enjoy the day filled with bouncy houses, games, paddle boat rides, a petting zoo, face painting and plenty of food.

The event proved to be fun for adults, kids and even those who were passing through St. Cloud. Brian Klebig from Michigan says he's here visiting family and his daughters are having the time of their lives playing at the park.

"It's fantastic, the kids a re really having a good time, my older daughter, who is three, absolutely loves the bounce houses, they've just been having fun running completely amok," says Klebig.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has been busy helping out with all of the Granite City Days festivities. Kleis says the Family Fun Day is a great way to get out and meet new people in the community.

"It's great, one of the things about community is you need to get to know folks, the best way to do that is to do that around celebrations," says Kleis.

Numerous volunteers helped put on the event that took nearly six months to plan.
