Someone Painted Prince’s First Avenue Star Gold

I was in Minneapolis last night for my fiance's brother's concert at First Avenue and I decided to go seek out Prince's star. When in Rome, right?

If you're not familiar with First Avenue, they have silver painted stars on the wall outside of the venue with names of celebrities who have performed there. I noticed that Prince's star looked a little different from the star I was used to seeing in all of the news footage surrounding his death--it was GOLD! In fact, it's the only gold star at First Ave.

I asked a few people if they knew about who painted Prince's star gold and the rumor was, some unknown man came and painted the star late one night. It seems fitting, considering the megastar made First Avenue famous and put Minnesota on the map! I kind of like it--even though it's probably vandalism.
