Wisconsin-based retail store Shopko announced Wednesday that they'll be closing nearly 40 stores across 19 states.

The Greenbay Press Gazette reports that Shopko -- after reviewing its long-term outlook on profitability, sales trends and growth potential -- has decided to close down 39 stores in small towns and cities in Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

The two Minnesota stores to be affected are in Paynesville and Mahnomen. No other word of changes or impacts on stores in St. Cloud or around Central Minnesota.

About 10-25 full- and part-time employees at each location will be affected by the closings.
