My Daughter Celebrates a Milestone with the Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan rolled into St. Cloud's River Edge Convention Center yesterday and it just happened to be the day Shay turned five-months-old... Already.

Thanks to YOU, the Twins Caravan was SOLD OUT and a whole lot of fun. Joe Mauer (above with Brittany, Shay and myself) Trevor Plouffe, newbie Jordan Schafer, and a couple of Twins Greats, Tony Oliva and Bert Blyleven... YES, "CIRCLE ME BERT", were all in attendance last night and took time to sign autographs, take pictures and talked with our sports guy Dave Overlund.

Mauer, was an extremely nice person, you would never know he's worth MILLIONS of dollars, very down to earth person. Mauer, Brittany and I talked about our daughter, his daughters and being a first time father. Mauer, father of TWIN (of course) girls, told us a few stories about just watching his girls grow up over the past few years and how fun it is watching them pick up their own characteristics and personalities. Brittany and I can see personality in Shay already and just like Mauer said, it is SO much fun watching her get bigger, stronger and giggle a lot harder and more often.
We shared some horror stories of new born babies too, but having twins in the house, I imagine Mauer's had it a little tougher. Wait till they're 16... good thing he owns a bunch of bats! No boys allowed.

We also got to meet Trevor Plouffe, who Brittany has such a HUGE crush on, I cropped myself out of the picture so she could have the perfect picture. Later in the night, when Plouffe announced he was going to be a first time dad, you saw the Brittany just deflate with sadness... it was fantastic(haha)! Plouffe also came across as a very nice guy and has an awesome sense of humor. Funny dude, expect good things from him this year.

Then there is the legend, Bert Blyleven, need I say more? He chatted Shay up for a bit and insisted taking a picture with her. Who says no to Bert Blyleven?

Ladies and gentleman, Tony Oliva... who missed the Hall of Fame by ONE VOTE!!! One vote. Great player from Cuba who has awesome stories for days.

And finally, my favorite, T.C. the Bear holding Shay, celebrating turning five-months-old.
