Once again it proves that "kids" can truly change the world! Just ask the state of Connecticut about a 15 year old named Daniel Krueger.  He and his cousin founded a group called "No More Butts", which clean up cigarette butts and raises awareness of the issue.  The state parks in his home state have seen a 70% reduction in the number of butts on the ground since the campaign got underway.

Americans toss more than 142 cigarette butts on the ground every second.  That's 176 million pounds of litter added to the environment every single year!  They're the most littered item in the U.S. and millions of butts are removed from American beaches each year.  Some of Daniel's tricks for helping fix this issue include encouraging places to provide more ash trays and post signs around to raise awareness.

Hats off to Daniel and the other kids doing their part to make this world a better place.  Once again, I hope you can share this story with your little ones and show them they do have a voice and can make things happen!
