SAUK RAPIDS - There will be a primary election later this year for the position as Sauk Rapids Mayor.  Three people have filed for the seat: incumbent Brad Gunderson, current city council member Kurt Hunstiger, and newcomer Guy Konietzko.  The primary will eliminate the man with the fewest votes, with the top two moving on to the November general election.

The Primary Election will be held on August 9th.

Meanwhile, four people have filed for the two open city council seats. They are: incumbents Steve Heinen and Nick Sauer, as well as newcomers Merle Gales and Layne Schmitz
