Sauk Rapids Brewery Announces A Name Change

SAUK RAPIDS - The new brewery in Sauk Rapids is making a name change. Owner Roy Dodds says "Urban Moose Brewing" will become "Urban Lodge Brewery & Restaurant" by the end of the year.

Dodds says since the day they opened earlier this year the number one question has been, "do you serve food?". Unlike microbreweries that do not serve food, but allow food to be brought in, Urban Lodge is a full service restaurant open seven days a week.

Dodds says he want to build a business that has the opportunity to grow beyond Sauk Rapids, and keeping the name "Urban Moose Brewing" would have restricted that opportunity, instead taking us down a long legal path over the use of “Moose” in our name.

Urban Lodge Brewery & Restaurant is at 415 Benton Drive North in Sauk Rapids.
