SARTELL -- Sartell officials want to hear your input as they update their 2016 comprehensive plan.

A public hearing will be held tonight (Monday) to allow you to weigh in on what direction the city should take over the next 20 to 30 years.

This is the second public hearing Sartell is holding on the comprehensive plan. Planning and Community Development Director Anita Rasmussen says the hearing is a way for the council to listen to resident input and provide feedback.

"The council has reviewed the comprehensive plan in it's draft form a number of times. This is an opportunity to provide input regarding the comp plan, let us know if we are in the right direction and if things need to be modified," says Rasmussen.

Residents also had a chance to weigh in on the comprehensive plan through a virtual open house in February.

Rasmussen says of the 116 residents that participated, one common theme was the comprehensive plan needed better clarification.

"I think what we realized is that we needed to clarify sections of the comprehensive plan, or just simply get the word out about the comprehensive plan and some of the details, goals and strategies contained within it," says Rasmussen.

No action will be taken, but Rasmussen says they would like some direction moving forward from the council.

The comprehensive plan is expected to be brought to the council for final approval next month.

Sartell's comprehensive plan has not been updated since 2003.
