Police: 61-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed After Falling Off Bike

SAUK RAPIDS - A man was struck and killed after falling off his bike. The Sauk Rapids police department says it happened just after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lane of North Benton Drive, under the Highway 15 bridge.

A 61-year-old man who has only been described as a Benton County resident had been riding his bike when he fell onto the roadway. Vehicles tried to avoid him, but a vehicle driven by a 64-year-old St. Cloud resident struck him.

The Benton County medical examiner is evaluating the man to determine if there were any other underlying medical issues.

The names of the people involved have not been released.
