Meet Sophie and Chata. Two lovely ladies waiting for you at the Tri-County Humane Society.

Sophie is 1 year old and spayed. She was brought to the shelter because her previous owner had too many animals. Upon arrival, Sophie and her 4-day-old kittens went directly to foster care. She is described as having a gentle, responsive personality. Sophie will rub on you to let you know she enjoys your company. When you gently massage her ears, her eyes close and off she goes into dreamland. Sophie is more petite than the other cats in the cat room and weighs only 7 pounds. She would qualify to be a cat you could name your own price for. Call the shelter for more details about our other cat promotions.

Chata is a spayed five year old Boxer mix. She’s a little more reserved than most Boxers and is apprehensive of unfamiliar men. Chata should be adopted by an experienced dog person who is consistent and gentle. She is house-trained and knows how to come, stay, sit and lay down. Chata hasn’t lived with other animals, but was very friendly with children of all ages. She is dog selective, meaning she likes some dogs she meets, but not all. So if you have another dog, you’d want to do a meet and greet at the shelter before you finalize the adoption. Chata is used to a fenced in back yard and may not be reliable off-leash. Her favorite toys are those that squeak and her favorite treats are milkbones.
