Meet Dillan and Roxy: A special needs puppy and a very sweet orange tabby.

Dillan is a charming 5 ½ year old neutered and declawed cat. He came to TCHS from another facility, so in-depth information about him is lacking. What we’ve learned during his stay at the shelter is that Dillan enjoys being held and seems to have a mellow and sweet personality. He seems to shy away from the loud noises of small children, so a quiet home with older children would suit him best. Did you know? Orange tabbies are far more likely to be a male, with an average ratio of 4 males to 1 female.

Roxy is a 3 month old Black Lab mix. She is spayed and already has a good start on house training. Roxy has a genetic condition that has made her nearly blind in her left eye. That in itself isn’t such a big challenge, except she has developed a juvenile cataract in her right eye. Needless to say, Roxy is a special needs puppy — but someone forgot to tell her! She plays tug-of-war with exuberance and takes great joy in fetching most anything you throw for her. Roxy is very smart and is at the perfect age to learn all kinds of things. Things that will help her maneuver around in the world in the future. If you have a soft spot for special dogs with special needs, please stop by the shelter to meet Roxy.
