Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. This weekend in Central Minnesota it's the Annual Becker Cancer Relay For Life, a great event for the entire family!

Everyone is welcome on Friday, July 13 2012 at 6pm to Saturday, July 14 at 6am, at the Annual Becker Cancer Relay For Life at the Becker High School track. This event is open for area families to come and spend the entire evening.  You do not have to be on a team!! Let’s make this a huge community event!  Admission is free.

The Relay begins with an Opening Ceremony at 6pm on Fri. July 13th. During the ceremony Survivors and their Caregivers will be honored, there will be a balloon release to remember ones that we have lost to cancer and to honor our Survivor Heroes and then a Survivor lap around the track.

Surrounding the inside and the outside of the track are luminary bags in memory/honor of individuals whose lives have been affected by cancer. The bags will be available to purchase prior to the Relay and are lit at dusk.  Team members, survivors, families, friends are then invited to stay until 6am to Relay through the night!

There will be fun for the entire family!  Each of the Relay teams will have activities and goodies available including inflatables, face painting, tattoos, contests, kids games, special walks, giveaways, and a HUGE silent auction. Stay as late as you want or spend the night!!  You will be guaranteed a night of memories that will touch your heart in a way you would have never expected!

Bring water, tent if you like, lawn chairs (or blanket for kids) bug spray and $$$$ for raffles and games and great treats. Bathrooms will be available.

In 2011, Becker Relay for Life (with 26 teams) raised over $124,000!!!  The American Cancer Society has been contacted by 196 patients from the Becker area this past year and has been able to directly assist with housing and transportation during treatment.  We are encouraged to see the efforts of the Relay making a difference!

Come Relay with us!!
