They say you should do something every day that scares you. I'm not sure why. And I don't follow this rule, but every now and then it's good to scrounge up some courage, feel the fear, and do it anyway!

Experts have given us several ways to overcome our fears.

1. Admit them out loud. I AM AFRAID OF AIR SHOWS!  There, I said it out loud. I have a crazy fear of going to air shows. The last time I went, I sat there for 10 minutes and had to leave. When you say your fears out loud, it taps into the more rational, and less emotional side of your brain. It does not, however, mean I will go to an airshow this summer.

2. Breath from your belly. Inhale slowly, then exhale slowly. They say it distracts you from your thoughts. I'm willing to try it.

3. Tell a story. If something frightens you, talk about it as if you are telling a story to someone. While breathing from your belly, and saying it out loud.

I'm thinking that if I do all of these things while sitting at the air show this summer, I won't have to worry about leaving on my own. (crazy lady)
