WHAT'S HAPPENING

Open Your Heart  To The Hungry, is the most efficient way for you to impact the lives of thousands of people who are hungry and homeless in Minnesota. Our community has food and shelter needs that can’t wait. Trina Dietz from Catholic Charities stopped by and informed me that if someone gives just $10 right now, that will turn into $80 worth of groceries for Catholic Charities.  She also said that these summer months are when food and supplies are needed the most. Without being in school, many children don't have the meals that they have during the school year, and soon, those families find their shelves empty. That’s why Open Your Heart is dedicated to responding quickly and giving assistance when and where it is needed most.

WHAT DOES THE PERSON WHO NEEDS HELP 'LOOK LIKE?'

Trina made another point. That before she worked at Catholic Charities, she had a picture in her mind of the people that needed help...and that picture is very different than what most of us think. These are working families, that are really trying to provide a good life for their children, and they really need our help.
