There's new music playing now on Mix 94.9!

Just days after dropping two new singles, Selena Gomez is adding some fresh sounds to Mix 94.9 with one of those tracks titled "Lose You to Love Me."

The power ballad comes from the first new solo music from Gomez in four years. In an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, she says, "...it's actually perfect timing, because I was going to release it two years ago. And none of the words that I'm speaking would have existed. [...] It's weird, too, cause I wrote this song ["Lose You to Love Me"] over a year ago...and it's like I feel completely different from when I wrote it."

Many believe the song to be about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, pointing to lyrics like "In two months you replaced us / Like it was easy..." and "Rose-colored glasses all distorted / Set fire to my purpose / And I let it burn..." both references to Justin Bieber dating now-wife Hailey Baldwin and his own previous album titled Purpose.

Whoever the song's about, Gomez says it's the closing of a chapter and that she's found peace.

"These two songs ["Lose You to Love You" and her other new single "Look at Her Now"] were me wrapping up a chapter in a pretty little bow, and the rest of the album is just about where I am now."

Also playing now on Mix 94.9 is the latest single from former One Directioner Niall Horan "Nice to Meet Ya."

The pop-rock track is the latest from Horan since his 2018 collaboration with Maren Morris "Seeing Blind." His debut album Flicker, released two years ago this month (October 2017), reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. While Flicker possessed a folk-pop sound, Rolling Stone notes that the newest single sounds decidedly more rock-pop with its "urgent piano riff," "sturdy bass line" and "hand claps."

Since the song's October 4th release, the Irish singer/songwriter has also released a stripped down acoustic version of the song as well.
